Our view of 2025 Gartner® Supply Chain Planning Summit—unlocking end-to-end supply chain value

The Gartner® Supply Chain Planning Summit (Denver, Dec. 1–3, 2025) brought together supply chain leaders, technology innovators, and industry practitioners to explore how transforming planning into execution and enabling a truly end-to-end supply chain platform is no longer optional—we believe it’s essential for competitive advantage in 2026 and beyond.

From planning to execution: The integrated reality

A central theme we think echoed throughout the Summit was the need to break down planning silos and build fully integrated workflows that span from strategic forecasting to operational execution. In our opinion, Gartner’s® agenda highlighted “End-to-End Supply Chain Decision-Centric Planning”—a shift toward solutions that unify data, systems and decisions across the planning-to-execution lifecycle.

Speakers and session tracks emphasized that planning systems must no longer exist in isolation. Instead, they must cohesively integrate with execution systems (S&OP, S&OE, TMS, WMS, OMS, Visibility, Supplier Collaboration) to enable real-time responsiveness, reduce latency in choices and ensure that plans are grounded in operational feasibility. This integration is crucial to turning planning insights into meaningful business outcomes.

AI and intelligent automation powering the platform

AI and machine learning dominated many discussions—not merely as buzzwords, but as fundamental capabilities embedded within end-to-end platforms that drive faster, more accurate, and autonomous decisions.
Case studies and testimonials shared during the event revealed that AI-driven planning systems are increasingly closing the gap between traditional, manual planning cycles and dynamic execution realities on the ground. By infusing intelligence into every layer of the platform, planners can anticipate disruptions, optimize trade-offs and deliver resilient outcomes with greater confidence.

Bridging human and technical workflows

A nuanced but vital theme was the human dimension of platform integration. In our opinion, people, processes and technology must align for a platform to truly deliver value. Organizations that redefined roles—enabling planners to focus on strategic decisions while automation handles repetitive tasks—were shown to achieve faster cycle times and richer insights.

This reflects a broader industry trend where the most successful enterprises don’t just adopt technology—they embed it into cross-functional ways of working that support agile planning, execution and continuous improvement.

Looking ahead: From insight to impact

Blue Yonder’s session, “Stories from the Top: Raising Supply & Demand Planning Confidence,” highlighted how modern supply chain platforms deliver a unified experience with shared data, connected workflows, and integrated financial, commercial, and operational planning. Customers showcased how forecasting, inventory optimization and execution can run on a single architecture, which we believe brought Gartner’s® end-to-end theme to life.

Blue Yonder is the only provider delivering a fully connected platform that unifies N-tier parts visibility, supplier collaboration, S&OP, S&OE, production scheduling, inbound and outbound transportation, yard and warehouse operations, order management, end-to-end orchestration, and AI-driven intelligence—all powered by a single source of real-time data on ONE platform. The result: Faster, more confident decisions, whether adjusting a schedule, rerouting a shipment, or updating delivery windows—true real-time, full-network orchestration.

The overarching message from Denver was clear: Digital transformation in supply chain planning is inseparable from its execution. Organizations that adopt end-to-end platforms—powered by AI, connected by scalable data architecture and centered around human-machine collaboration—will be best positioned to convert uncertainty into opportunity and deliver sustainable value in a complex global economy.
